Definitions

The person who in their own name or the name of another person completes the booking of flight tickets on the website is called the purchaser. The person whose name is indicated in the booking as the traveller is called the traveller. When messages are sent to the purchaser he/she is responsible for informing the traveller of them. The website is limited to GoLeif or any partner where the service is integrated in another website. The issuer of these terms and the travel agency responsible for the arrangement of flight tickets is Scanworld TravelPartner AB, 556538-1265.

General information

The terms and conditions cover the purchase of flight tickets for persons aged 18 years and older. By using our booking service the purchaser guarantees that they are 18 years old or over. We communicate mainly via e-mail and it is the responsibility of the purchaser to keep themselves informed concerning their booking via the messages that are sent out. Answers to common questions relating to the booking process can be found on the website under "Customer service". These answers should only be used as an aid and cannot be quoted in any complaint.

Personal details in the booking

It is the responsibility of the purchaser to give the correct personal details such as the name of the traveller, any fellow passengers, physical address, phone number and e-mail address. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to check the destination, date of travel and price etc on the personal booking page as well as in the confirmation mail that is sent to the given e-mail address once the booking has been completed. The purchaser and the traveller are responsible themselves for checking the travel documents are correct as soon as they are received and immediately bringing attention to any errors.

Cancellation and rebooking of flight tickets

Flight tickets cannot be cancelled or rebooked unless otherwise indicated. If the purchaser wants tickets that can be cancelled or rebooked, the relevant information can be obtained from customer services. Flight tickets are individual and cannot be transferred to another person.

Cancellation insurance

The terms and conditions for the cancellation insurance are given on our website. The purchaser is responsible for ensuring that they have sufficient insurance protection in accordance with their requirements. We recommend cancellation insurance as protection against illness and unforeseen events.

Cancellation protection is taken out when booking the flight ticket and paid for on the payment date indicated for the trip. The cancellation protection cannot be taken out separately once the trip has been partly or fully paid for but must be subscribed to before payment is made.

Cancellation must take place in accordance with the terms and conditions of the cancellation insurance. The conditions covering any compensation under the terms and conditions of the cancellation insurance are as indicated on the website.

When is the booking of flight tickets binding?

The booking is binding once payment has been made. The traveller can cancel the trip once we have received payment however they will not be reimbursed the price of the trip beyond what is applicable under the airline's policy for the ticket booked. Low price tickets with traditional airlines have extremely restrictive terms which state whether or not they can be cancelled or rebooked. The airline can also cancel the booking, in which case we refund the cost of the trip direct to the purchaser.

The indicated price for the flight ticket

We cannot be held responsible for any pricing errors, technical problems, data errors and changes outside of our control. These are caused for example by airlines showing places that are not available or wrong prices being given by the booking system. Note that we cannot change the price if you have already received the flight ticket.

Flight taxes -All airlines pay a charge per passenger for passenger facilities, insurance costs, passenger security, airport maintenance, etc. Such costs are summarised under the term "taxes and fees". These are governed by local authorities and therefore vary according to your destination, airline and potential stopovers. Since taxes are first determined when the booking is confirmed, changes in currency rates and temporary security charges can affect the final tax amount. Taxes indicated on the website prior to the booking can therefore differ from the confirmation of the completed booking. This is why the total price is always shown divided up into ticket price and flight taxes.

We reserve the right to announce price changes via the given e-mail address within 24 hours of a completed booking.

Payment of flight tickets

Payment is made at the time of booking.

Accepted method of payment - credit cards are Visa, Eurocard and MasterCard.

All communication in connection to payment by card is encrypted via the Debitech Payment Gateway.

Delivery of flight tickets

For those customers that have ordered paper tickets it is the responsibility of the purchaser to inform us if the tickets do not arrive. The flight tickets are sent to the indicated address at the latest 4 days following the receipt of final payment unless otherwise agreed. If you have not received the tickets within the indicated time then we request that you contact customer services immediately.

We reserve the right to refuse delivery and propose another method of delivery or e-ticket.

Passport and visa

It is up to the traveller to find out whether a passport is required, if it is valid and if a visa is required for the destination in question as well as any intermediate landings

The airline's liability

The airlines that are bookable from our website have a responsibility towards their passengers in accordance with the contract and conditions indicated on the flight ticket and the envelope in which the paper tickets are delivered. We therefore take no liability for delays, lost baggage, cancelled flights or similar as this falls upon the airline in accordance with the conditions of the ticket. With an e-ticket the provision of the airline's terms and conditions of transport apply.

Schedules for flight bookings

Flight times and flight numbers are preliminary. All flights times are given in the local time of the destination. This also applies to the schedules received following the confirmation. Flight times and flight numbers can be changed at short notice. Check therefore that the travel documents are accurate before departure.

We do not accept liability for any schedule changes or other changes made by the airline and will make you aware of any schedule changes via an e-mail to the given e-mail address.

Before travelling home it is important to reconfirm and check the ticket with the airline concerned at the latest 72 hours before departure. Reconfirmation of return flights only applies to flights outside Europe. If reconfirmation is not made then the traveller risks losing their place and missing out on information concerning any schedule changes. The airline, travel agency or organiser cannot be held responsible for problems that occur due to flight delays or schedule changes. The traveller is responsible for making sure that they are in possession of a valid passport and that they have the required visas for the journey.

Infants

Children under two do not have their own seat onboard and must sit on the knee of an adult.

Transport for airport transfers during the travel

The traveller is personally responsible for any transport costs involved in airport transfers.

Specific rules for certain airlines

In all cases where other specific conditions apply to the booking of flight tickets with a specific airline then this is indicated in stage three of the booking process.

Other bookings made via partners on the website

When booking for example a hotel or rental car via the website, separate contracts are made with the hotel and rental car suppliers. This is clearly specified and accepted by the purchaser before the booking is completed. These bookings do not affect the terms and conditions for the booking of the flight tickets.

Double bookings

If the purchaser or someone on his/her behalf double books a flight with the same flight, same name and e-mail address then the airline can cancel all travel. We are not responsible for cancellations that the airline makes when they discover a double booking. The airline can do this regardless of whether the booking is made through another website or another travel agency.

Travelling on just one leg of a return ticket

If the purchaser has booked a return ticket but only intends to make use of the first leg then the traveller must turn up for the intended departure or the whole ticket will be cancelled by the airline.

Force majeure

We do not accept liability for any loss caused if the planned trip cannot be completed due to environmental catastrophe, warlike event, strike or other similar event over which we have no control occurring either at or in close proximity to the destination. We act on the decision of the airline concerning conditions of force majeure.

Complaints about a booking

If the customer is not happy regarding the booking then this must be communicated to customer services within a reasonable time. We will assist with any shortcoming in accordance with the airline's rules concerning completed bookings. Complaints are dealt with in English. Any problems or criticism concerning the flight only are forwarded directly to the airline.

Black listed airlines

Certain airlines are not permitted to operate within the EU. The list is continually updated and is available to read here.
